The swimming pool

The swimming pool

It has two pools: a heated indoor pool of 50m² and an exterior pool of 24m² with a 17m long slide.

The pond

The pond

The Pond of la Barre is a very beautiful site, dug by monks almost 500 years ago. Nowadays, it covers more than 10 hectares with its natural swamps. It is the source of many activities: it is a large fishing area (“No kill”) for roach, carp, perch and pike. The record held is a carp of 15 kilos. At the edge of the pond, when fishing is not open, canoes and a boat are freely accessible.

You can also walk around the pond and enjoy quiet nature, with its fauna and flora biodiversity.

The minigolf

The minigolf

The minigolf, opened in June 2015, offers a 12-hole course that will make you spend good relaxing moments. Access to minigolf is unlimited (within the limits of available clubs).

To celebrate your arrival

To celebrate your arrival

Every Sunday, holidaymakers are invited to a welcome breakfast where they will discover the specialties of Poitou. This is an opportunity to get to know each other and share a nice and friendly moment.

The henhouse

The henhouse

The henhouse opens every morning. Geese, chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl, ducks … are a delight for children who can feed them. It is also a source for recycling organic waste from holidaymakers’ kitchens. Poultry are a key part of our ecological system.

The chapel

The chapel

The Domaine de la Barre is located on a site where monks lived a long time ago (Templars and then Knights of the Order of Malta). The Robin family, founders of Ferme Saint-Michel, restored a very old building which was most likely one of their chapel, as evidenced by the cross of the Order of Malta on the northern façade. The chapel, located a little apart from the living house, is open to everyone for resting, meditating or discovering.

Poney rides

Poney rides

La Ferme Saint-Michel raises a large herd of ponies and double ponies (from 10 to 16 depending on the year and birth) available to families who wish to go riding around the pond. A ride lasts 45 minutes to one hour depending on the weather and the condition of the ponies. Taking into account all the animal preparation work, before and after the ride, we ask for each trip a contribution of 12 Euros. All rides are accompanied by a guide.
