The Etang de la Barre is a beautiful site, dug by monks nearly 500 years ago, and now covers nearly 10 hectares with its natural marshlands. It offers several activities: “No kill” fishing (roach, carp, and pike), boating (5 canoes available), and you can also walk around, on foot or pony – see the “Ponies” section – and enjoy the pleasures of nature in this quiet and preserved place. You will discover a rich biodiversity of fauna and flora during workshops organized by local naturalist associations as opportunities arise.

Mini-golf

Mini-golf

The mini-golf, opened in June 2015, offers a 12-hole course that will provide you with great moments of relaxation. Access to the mini-golf is unlimited (subject to the availability of clubs).

To celebrate your arrival

To celebrate your arrival

Every Monday, from early July to late August, vacationers are invited to a welcome breakfast, where you can discover the specialties of Poitou and local products presented by our partners. It’s an opportunity to get to know each other and share a friendly moment.

The Farm's Chicken Coop

The Farm's Chicken Coop

The chicken coop is open every morning. The hens and their rooster bring joy to the children who can feed them leftovers from their meals, respecting our guidelines. It is a source of recycling organic waste from the kitchen of people staying on site.

The poultry are an essential ecological element, and sometimes the fox comes to shake things up!

The chapel

The chapel

The Domaine de la Barre is situated on a site where monks lived a long time ago (Templars and then Knights of the Order of Malta). The Robin family, founders of the Saint-Michel Farm, restored a very old building that was most likely one of their chapels, as evidenced by the Maltese cross on the north facade. This slightly secluded building is open to all for rest, meditation, or exploration.

Pony cuddles

Pony cuddles

The Saint-Michel Farm welcomes ponies, blind or old, for a peaceful end of life. They love cuddles and carrot treats. You can come take care of them. However, mounted rides are no longer allowed.

Workshops for children

Workshops for children

We offer a free workshop to discover a Poitevin pastry specialty: the broyé. Reserve a spot for your children, and enjoy… if they leave you any!

Outdoor and indoor games

Various games are available near the chalets: a ping-pong table, a foosball table, a pétanque court, a soccer field, and swings. In the reception hall, enjoy a library and games corner.
